Job Description:
Ingram Barge Company is currently hiring entry level Deckhands
Candidates must possess a minimum of a valid Drivers License and High School Diploma/GED.

Deckhands work a variety of schedules while on board the vessel. 28 days on / 28 days off, 21 days on / 21 days off, 14 days on / with 14 days off, 21 days on / 10 days off, and 14 days on / 7 days off. While on:board you will work two 6 hr. shifts or call watch (12 hr. days).

Below are the duties associated with the Deckhand Position.
Tow Responsibilities:
Carrying rigging (Ratchets, Wires, Straps) pumps, hoses, lines, and associated
equipment weighing 50:115 lbs. up to xxxxft.
Assist Mate or Leadman with laying wires to ensure proper stability of the tow.
Using ratchets, wenches, sledge hammers, toothpicks and cheater bars to tighten all
wires on the tow.
Checking all barges for water of possible leaks.
Climbing into confined spaces measuring 3ft x 12ft x 25ft, to repair leaks, remove debris, and to place hoses for water removal.
Sweeping or shoveling all debris from the deck of the barges.
Climbing lock walls in excess of 40ft.
Maintain engine room logs, service all deck equipment (I.E. pumps, winches, ratchets, and oiling gears on equipment.
Vessel Maintenance:
Sweeping and mopping all floors, wiping down all surfaces and cleaning all
bathrooms, showers, and crew quarters.
Cleaning all vessel interior walls, windows, and ceilings.
Cleaning galley area by washing dishes, emptying dishwashers.
Cleaning stoves, ovens, refrigerators, freezers, and all other galley equipment.
Washing (sooging) entire outer structure of the vessel.
Chipping, grinding, sanding, priming, and painting the interior and exterior of vessel.
Splicing and repairing lines, making bumpers, for use on the vessel and tow.
