Description
The Site Reliability Engineer III will provide reliability support to the site by developing and implementing reliability engineering systems. The position will be responsible for implementing Reliability methodologies like RBI, RCM, RCA and other reliability:based maintenance engineering principles and practices. The position develops and oversees the implementation of a comprehensive multi:year "Reliability Plan".
: Analyze the reasons for equipment failure and lead Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) efforts. Participate in reliability related incident investigations; prioritize action items, and follow:up on their implementation.
: Perform root cause analyses of equipment failures and develop/implement corrective actions to address root causes.
: Coordinate with maintenance, production and storeroom personnel to establish and maintain the proper stocking levels of parts and equipment required to provide maximum equipment uptime at the lowest possible costs.
: Support capital projects by supplying engineering expertise in the specification, design, and construction of capital projects in accordance with plant design requirements as well as regulatory and BASF standards.
: Develop equipment repair procedures and specifications necessary to improve plant and equipment reliability.
: Perform/manage preventive and predictive maintenance activities.
: Active support of all EH and S policies and procedures.
Qualifications : BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent
Education
: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Experience
: Minimum of 7 + years maintenance, project engineer, or reliability engineer experience in a chemical manufacturing environment required.
: Experience with formal reliability programs such as TPM, RCM, RCFA.
: Experience with Process Safety programs and requirements preferred.
: Experience developing, reviewing, and implementing strategic preventive and predictive maintenance programs and procedures for plant equipment required.
: Experience with rotating equipment installation and predictive maintenance methods preferred.
Knowledge/Skills
: Excellent motivational, analytical, and communication skills (both written and verbal) are required.
: Excellent computer skills to include CMMS software, manufacturing software, and Microsoft Office suite of products. SAP experience preferred.
: Proven ability to collect, monitor, interpret, and recommend reliability mechanical integrity improvements in a chemical manufacturing environment.
: Must be a self:starter, highly motivated, and maintain a positive, effective attitude under all work conditions.
: Demonstrated solid knowledge of engineering standards such as ASME and API and their application in chemical manufacturing industry and integrity of plant equipment preferred
: Demonstrated ability to develop the required design, scope, execute, and manage projects within budget and on time preferred.
: Must possess the ability to work independently and deliver projects/tasks on time and within budget.
