GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES – The Regional VP, Planning and Development is responsible for the development of business strategies and opportunities for the North Florida Division Orlando Market hospitals. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Provides direction and support for the on-going development of multiple service lines for the market. In partnership with key division personnel, hospital administrative teams and physicians, conceives and develops strategy, promotes operational standards, and ensures that services are coordinated across the market. Ensures that the strategies, priorities and operations of the facilities are aligned and complementary, ensuring a system approach to hospital services within the market. Works collaboratively with Orlando facilities executive leadership to develop, document, and coordinate long-range strategies and plans for services, facilities and operations of the organization. Facilitates service line planning across the Orlando Market with Hospital and Division leadership. Aligns development and strategic planning with marketing, physician sales and physician recruiting. Identifies, conceptualizes, and promotes programs and services that will enhance the hospital’s ability to respond to identified market needs within the framework of the strategic plan. Cultivates and develops relationships with potential business partners and leverages these relationships in order to grow market share, service volume, and brand recognition. Partners with colleagues and physicians to develop and communicate strategies which strengthen overall financial and service performance; partners with Service Line Leaders and Physician Sales to identify and execute opportunities to strengthen physician network referrals; Works with Decision Support to obtain and analyze data regarding: Competitive environment in Orlando Market share data Other market data Conducts special studies to evaluate and develop new programs and services. Serves on community boards as necessary. Manages service line development, implementation and management activities, including: Facilitation of the planning process and implementation activities with Division and facility leadership Participation in the annual budgeting process Assistance with the facilities’ evaluation and purchase of diagnostic and treatment equipment, ensuring equipment standardization and “best pricing opportunity” Service Line Specific Performance Metrics Market share stabilization/growth Net revenue & volume growth Contribution and EBDITA Margins (Service Line P&Ls) Successful service line development and implementation
