Job Description:/h3:
This position is an integral component of the product development team. As a member of our fast:paced innovative product development team your responsibilities will include the design and implementation support for of all aspects of the product development processes : from the conceiving, architecting, designing, and testing of new products to ensuring successful production rollout with a cross:functional team.
This includes developing and refining the product design criteria based on end:user input, material selection, quality planning, product functionality and performance design, and development of product qualification testing requirements.
Candidates will need to have knowledge in many areas including material knowledge, manufacturing processes (CNC, casting, 3D printing, amongst others), simple stress analysis, quality planning, and FMEA. You will use your creativity and engineering experience to lead the
structural/mechanical design, evaluation, and prototyping of innovative new products across many industries : O and G / Energy, Mining, Aerospace, Medical, Automotive, etc.
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, strong mechanical engineering technical background with proven experience in developing metal:based products for industrial applications.

Ability to develop and manage the product development process including timeline management
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Product Design:
Conceptualize, design, build and test new products within a fast:paced product development team taking projects and entire product concepts through every phase from initial concept to production.
Responsible for design, analysis, documentation, and functional validation of
structural/mechanical components and assemblies.
Works closely with the Sales team to develop product design criteria and specifications and leads associated product designs through the development process. This includes the prototyping and production roll:out engineering.
Provides creative, technically:feasible designs that satisfy customer needs while adhering to engineering standards, company marketing feature requirements and industrial design goals.
Interfaces with Process Engineering as necessary to develop manufacturing processes for designs as well as product qualification testing requirements.
Works closely with external resources to identify innovative, cost effective suppliers of components and design elements.
Researches necessary functional requirements including material selection, applicable regulations, statutory requirements, and certifying body requirements.
Ensures quick and organized flow of information in a fast paced product development environment.
Understands internal and external customer requirements and maintains focus and a positive attitude toward customer satisfaction.
Estimates development and production costs and lead:times as required.
