The Project Manager oversees and manages software development and other IT projects, including maintenance and long-term support contracts, throughout the life cycle of each project. This resource is responsible for identifying and designing system requirements, project planning, status reporting, leading diverse teams and working with outside customers. The Project Manager must be detailed oriented and demonstrate the ability to grasp project details and identify issues and risks, while simultaneously possessing the ability to see the bigger picture and understand the interdependencies of the overall program. This position must provide leadership and demonstrate the ability to work with a diverse project team consisting of members from all parts of the organization (both IS & Business).
Duties:
A Project Manger/Business Analyst oversees/manages multiple software development projects. Responsibilities include:
Identifying, tracking, managing and resolving project issues, acting as the single point of contact between development team, customer and management
Developing Project Management Office deliverables - project charter, risk management plan, change management plan etc.
Facilitating design meetings
Defining system requirements, flows and interfaces based on customer needs
Developing software requirements specifications
Defining resources and types of resources required for project
Providing overall leadership and management of project resources
Proactively disseminating project information to all stakeholders
Identifying, managing and mitigating project risk, by anticipating developmentdeployment issues and providing immediate resolution or escalation where required
Ensuring that the solution is of acceptable quality
Proactively managing scope to ensure that only what was agreed to is delivered, unless changes are approved through scope management
Defining and collecting metrics to give a sense for how the project is progressing and whether the deliverables produced are acceptable
Managing the overall schedule to ensure work is assigned and completed on time and within scope and budget
Reporting weekly status of projects
Working closely with Senior Management in reporting project status and concerns
Cultivating and maintaining strong relationships with the customer's management and project teams
Participating in the sales process by a) Providing technical expertise to the account executive and b) Assist clients in identifying needs and proposing solutions
Depending on the size of the project, Business Analyst skills may also be required, including:
Working with developers to clarify/refine/elaborate requirements as the technical implementation progresses
Working with the Technical Writer to produce required project documentation and/or producing the required project documentation
Working with QA team to ensure the delivery of quality software
Qualifications:
Knowledge:
Knowledge of software development life cycle (SDLC)
Knowledge of Feasibility studies
Skills:
5+ years of software application management experience to include end-to-end project planning, status reporting and issue/risk management
2+ years of Business Analyst experience
2+ years of technical experience as a developer
2+ years experience in working with Oracle or SQL Server Databases
Qualifications necessary for a Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) preferred, qualifications for a Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred
Abilities:

Proven ability to clearly identify , track, manage and resolve project issues and risks and act as the single point of contact between the development team, customer, and management
Ability to develop PMO deliverables
Proven ability to facilitate a design meeting

Ability to develop software requirements specifications
Ability to define resources and types of resources required for the project
Proven ability to manage project resources including overall leadership ability
Proven ability to proactively disseminate project information to all stakeholders
Identify, manage, and mitigate project risk, by anticipating development/deployment issues and provide immediate resolution or escalation where required and ensure that the resolution is of acceptable quality
Ability to proactively manage the scope of the project to ensure that only what was agreed to is delivered, unless changes are approved through scope management

Ability to work closely with Senior Management in reporting project status and concerns

Educational Requirements:
Bachelors Degree in IT, MIS or related field
PMP Certification Desired
