Launching your boat can be done from several points along the Homosassa. The most used ramp is at MacCraes Boat dock at the end of Cherokee Point off Yulee Drive. You can also launch at the end of Mason Creek Road at the public ramp and at Riverside Resort which has a private ramp.
Every summer, hundreds of boaters flock to the Scallop grounds off the Homosassa River. This popular sport allows divers to swim around in the gulf and forage for Scallops.There's not much better than spending a day diving for scallops then cooking them up for dinner.
