First Commerce Credit Union is currently seeking a Credit Manager for its Tallahassee, FL office.
Summary:
The primary purpose of this position is to assist First Commerce in fulfilling our Vision To Be Our Member's Financial Partner for Life. This is achieved through delivering Remarkable Member Service as defined by our Service Standards as well as building and maintaining strong member relationships through identification of member's financial needs and effectively recommending appropriate products and services to meet those needs.
This leadership position will partner with the Chief Credit Officer for oversight of the quality and productivity of consumer and mortgage underwriters and portfolio analyst, in addition to collaborating with the Business Services Manager and other lenders to coordinate, analyze and implement business services credit facilities.
Individual contributor responsibilities include assessing credit data to evaluate business loan requests for acceptability, underwriting and documenting financial and credit risk, analyzing cash flow, interpreting collateral evaluation, setting conditions, ordering third party reports, prepare internal credit memos and preparing various portfolio reports. Indentify portfolio concentrations with attention to market share, income growth, cash flow and collateral evaluation to decide if loans will be profitable and secure. Contributes to the success of the credit union by providing prompt, efficient, accurate and friendly service to members, business partners and internal team members.
Leadership Duties:
Ensures that all underwriters and analysts deliver prompt, accurate, and courteous external and internal service in accordance with our Service Standards.
Oversees the quality, speed and relevance of underwritten loans. Offers and managers clear expectations of service level.
Prepares and/or analyzes relevant special reports for distribution to Senior Management.
Works within an approved budget; Develops and implements cost saving measures and conserves organizational resources.
Responsible for hiring, training, scheduling, development, coaching, counseling, evaluating and overall leadership management credit staff.
Sets and achieves challenging goals; Demonstrates persistence and overcomes obstacles; Measures self against standard of excellence; Takes calculated risks to accomplish goals.
Commercial Credit Analyst Job Duties:
Conducts credit investigations and analyzes credit information pertaining to loan opportunities.
Provides support to Business Services Lenders and Loan Committee in collection of borrower financial information, financial spread preparation, researching industry data, preparing independent thorough written analyses with focus on the borrower's historical and projected ability to service existing and requested new debt and key credit risks.
Underwrites and structures small business, consumer real estate, commercial owner and non-owner occupied real estate, construction, equipment, and vehicle loans. Monitors and disburses loan proceeds on construction loans.
Assists in preparing information necessary for the monthly NCUA Call report, pipelines and closing, exception tracking, and appraisal logs.
Prepares internal loan documentation from LaserPro and performs a post-closing review ensuring documentation is complete and liens perfected.
Assists Business Services Manager and CCO in preparing for audits and examinations by the State and/or NCUA.
Maintains a rigorous understanding of regulatory requirements, asset quality standards, SBA/SOP rules, business services loan policy and effectively fosters relationships with third party vendors.
Perform job duties in accordance with policies established by the Board of Directors under the rules and regulations set by the National Credit Union Administration, CFPB, RESPA/TILA, other Federal agencies and the State of Florida and State laws of other States where FCCU conducts business.
Complies with BSA, OFAC, and CIP requirements such as checking names against OFAC for new deposit or loan relationships and issuing cashier checks.
Fully supports in actions and words First Commerce's Vision, Mission, Core Values and Service Standards.
Orders and reviews third party reports such as appraisals, environmental, surveys, and titles.
Performs annual financial reviews of new and existing credit relationships. Reviews are performed on a portfolio basis in accordance with the business loan policy. Reviews include financial statement monitoring, risk rating analysis, UCC security, exception tracking, covenant monitoring, payment performance, and site inspections.
Implements new and performs annual reviews of significant ACH and RDC relationships to ensure approval levels are appropriate and that the risk profile continues to be acceptable.
Periodically monitors significant criticized and classified loans as well as understanding the conditions of TDR's. Identify other performing loans having higher risk profiles, and prepare risk rating status changes.
Maintains accurate and complete electronic and physical loan and credit files.
Identifies cross sell opportunities and makes referrals to other credit union departments.
Participate in department projects and take an active part in cross-functional teams to drive quality improvements in process and initiatives.
Provide 212 service to internal and external member and customers to develop lasting relationships.
REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION: Four year degree from an accredited university in business administration or finance. MBA strongly preferred.
EXPERIENCE: Ten years of prior Credit Union or Banking experience required. In addition, a minimum of one year of new account and lending experience required (must be proficient in consumer lending).
SKILLS: Previous commercial services experience preferred, but not required. Excellent oral and written communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills required. Requires strong problem-solving skills, analytical skills, solid judgment, the ability to work independently on projects, meet deadlines, and follow through on issues and assignments.
